Shelton Student Delegates
Vision: To foster a civically engaged community of values-based leaders through social networking, professional development, and selfless-service in order to impact individuals on the campus, local, and global levels.
Shelton Student Delegates is a club at NC State whose mission is to represent the Shelton Leadership Center and to demonstrate the values of honesty, integrity, compassion, diversity, and social responsibility through hands-on leadership and student body engagement for current and future members of the Shelton Leadership family.
One of the most important aspects of the club is its emphasis on selfless service and team-building through service and leadership-based events both on and off NC State’s campus.
Each year, we lead two outreach events for high school students:
- Fall Conference is a one-day event that offers a morning of service plus afternoon sessions full of great information for life after high school, such as practicing interviewing skills, writing college essays, applying for jobs, and stepping through the college application process.
- On Fall Visit Day, we deliver a tour of campus that is a more personalized addition to an official NC State tour. We also host a small service event at the end of the day designed to help build our pre-college community.
Shelton Student Delegates welcome all college students, whether they have been a part of Shelton programs in the past or not. We plan and implement all events as a team and work together to foster a positive sense of community and build ourselves and others into better leaders.
