The Shelton Leadership Center is dedicated to building up the next generation of values-based leaders. Through personalized educational and hands-on outreach programs for professionals, college students, and pre-college students, participants cultivate the personal and professional integrity that sparks inspiration—and transformation.

Championing values
for winning leadership

Leaders can be made. But it takes a solid foundation of essential values for a leader to realize individual potential—and influence others to achieve their best. This is values-based leadership, and it underpins every program within the Shelton Leadership Center.

“A values-based leader is one who is known for their character.”
– General Hugh Shelton

A vision realized

With a lifelong commitment to military and civil service that culminated in his becoming our nation’s 14th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Hugh Shelton knows what it means to lead with integrity. Following his retirement, General Shelton wanted to help nurture tomorrow’s leaders through a values-based leadership development program in association with his alma mater, North Carolina State University. So, in 2002, the Shelton Leadership Center was established.

Last weekend both cohorts of CLDP partnered with the @FoodShuttle to help carry out a mobile food market for community members facing food insecurity. Our group assisted with unloading a truck full of food donations that were then organized and sorted for 100 families. pic.twitter.com/Vn05zZ8LEx
